Pepsico one of the largest beverages company was quick to understand it and had introduced a line of organic juice ‘Naked’. It claimed to be 100% organic without any preservatives .

Naked created a buzz among the general public and it was an instant hit. At morning walks or gym, the product could be seen in people’s hand. The claims and marketing had worked wonders and the sales skyrocketed.

Things were going great but a lawsuit against the firm changed everything. It was found that that the juice contained artificial sweeteners and its claims of 100% juice and no preservatives were misleading. US FDA’s tests found that Naked juice contained more sugar than same quantity of coke.

All this did not go well with the public and people began filing lawsuits against the giant firm and Pespico was forced to pay a whopping 10 million dollars for misleading people and risking their health.

Perhaps this is one of the many examples of how firms market their products and risk the health citizens for their profits. The global companies must not take the consumers for granted and must not fall to such standards where their claims are completely false.
